Community Health Centers Honored during National Health Center Week

Health Net recently joined local health centers in support of underserved communities in California. Health Net focused on helping people in counties with the most vulnerable populations, including:

• Los Angeles
• Sacramento
• Tulare
• San Joaquin and El Dorado

Week in Review

As part Health Center Week, Health Net collaborated with key providers like

• AltaMed, ALTURA Centers for Health
• Arroyo Vista Family Health, and
• Community Medical Centers

At each provider location, Health Net sponsored a variety of activities, which included:

• Donate Back to School supplies like desk and computers
• Provide free vaccines and health screening for kids
• Distribute masks, hand sanitizer, soap and COVID-19 info to homeless
• Sponsor cooking demos and webinars focused on diabetes prevention and stress management

Health Net Supports the Community

Health Net sponsored a variety of events recently in recognition of the communities they serve. These included:

• A partnership with ALTURA Health Centers for Health to provide:
  • Safety supplies to homeless
  • Celebrate local agricultural workers, and
  • Donate school supplies to the rural town of Woodville, CA.
• A virtual community health fair hosted by Northeast Valley Corp in Los Angeles. The fair included webinars on topics like:
  • Healthy cooking
  • Gardening tips
  • Diabetes prevention and stress management
• Six back-to-school fairs in Los Angeles. The company co-hosted these with The Arroyo Vista Family Health Center. Local residents:
  • Signed up for free child hood vaccines
  • Took several health screenings
