Individual Business Platform Simplification Initiative
Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to serving California individuals and families.
We are excited to share that we will soon begin a platform simplification initiative to migrate our California Individual business to the national Ambetter Health platform. This initiative represents a significant investment in our California Individual business and reinforces our long-term commitment to supporting our members, brokers, and agency partners. By moving to a common national platform, we will be able to provide a more streamlined and consistent operating model, enhanced broker tools, and a stronger foundation for future improvements and innovation.
This communication is intended to provide advance notice of the first phase of the migration, which includes broker recontracting activities.
Recontracting Activities
As part of this transition, California brokers will be asked to execute a new Producer Agreement with Ambetter Health. Recontracting is the first step in the migration process and will ensure you remain authorized to continue selling and servicing our Individual products following the transition.
In the coming weeks, you will receive additional communications outlining the contracting process, key dates, and information needed to complete your new agreement. Once contracting becomes available, we encourage you to complete the process promptly to avoid any disruption to your ability to sell and service our products.
At this time, no action is required. There will be no immediate changes to how you conduct business today while contracting activities are underway.
What's Changing
As part of the platform migration, several enhancements and process changes will be introduced over the coming months:
Affiliated Sub-Producers
One of the enhancements associated with the new platform is the ability to formally contract affiliated sub-producers under an agency relationship.
All sub-producers affiliated with an agency must be properly associated with that agency in accordance with Ambetter Health requirements.
Broker Identification
Beginning with business effective January 1, 2027, ABS Broker IDs will no longer be required. Continue using Agency TIN and Agent License number for submission.
Enhanced Broker Portal Experience
As part of the migration, brokers will receive access to a new broker portal experience that will provide enhanced self-service capabilities and access to key business information.
Additional details regarding portal registration, access instructions, training materials, and support resources will be communicated before launch.
Commission Administration
No commission changes are being announced as part of this communication.
Additional information regarding commission payments, statements, historical commission data, payment preferences, and portal access will be shared in future communications as migration activities progress.
