3 Ways to Save on Prescription Drugs

3 Ways to Save on Prescription Drugs

Want to pay less for your prescription drugs? Here are three easy ways to save with your Blue & Gold HMO from Health Net of California, Inc.

Ask for generic drugs
When you ask for generic instead of brand-name drugs, you’ll pay less for a drug that is just as effective and safe. All generic drugs go through the same tough testing as brand-name drugs, so there’s no reason to pay more! The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a great source for information about generics.

Visit a walk-up pharmacy
Purchase your maintenance medications on the Health Net Maintenance Drug List at a UC walk-up pharmacy or CVS retail pharmacy to get a three-month supply for the price of two copayments.

Order through CVS/caremarTM
You can also get a three-month supply of many prescriptions for the price of two copayments when you order through the CVS/caremark™ mail order pharmacy.

Note: Some drugs are not available through mail order or may be limited to a 30-day supply. The exceptions include pain medications (narcotics), specialty drugs and selfinjectable medications.

You can order by phone, online or by mail. Have your doctor call in a new prescription at:
1-800-378-5697
FAX 1-800-378-0323
