The Health Net Mail Order Pharmacy, administered by CVS Caremark, offers the convenience of home delivery for most of your maintenance prescriptions. To find out if your Health Net plan includes a mail order pharmacy benefit, see your plan's Coverage Document or contact the Health Net Customer Contact Center at the number located on your Health Net ID card.
What Is Covered?
The prescription drugs you request must be covered by your pharmacy benefit. If you submit prescriptions for drugs or supplies that are not covered, they will be returned to you unfilled. You also may order covered diabetic supplies through the Mail Order Pharmacy. Your prescription may be written for up to a 90-day supply. Some benefit plans are limited to a 60-day supply, so check your Plan Documents.
Some plans may cover medications not on our drug lists, which may change within the contract year without advance notice. If you have questions regarding your drug coverage, call the Customer Contact Center at the number located on your Health Net ID card.
When Should the Mail Order Pharmacy Be Used?
The Mail Order Pharmacy should be used only to obtain maintenance medications, which are those needed for a long-term condition. Antibiotics for infections, migraine medications and painkillers for pain due to injury are examples of medications for short-term conditions that are not appropriate to obtain from the Mail Order Pharmacy.
Use the Mail Order Pharmacy only to obtain drugs you have previously received. Fill all first-time prescriptions at a participating pharmacy. This will ensure the appropriate dose has been determined and your ability to tolerate the drug has been established.
How to Use the Mail Order Pharmacy:
1. View the Getting Started With Mail Order brochure and obtain the Mail Service Order Form located under Pharmacy Forms or by calling Health Net at the Customer Contact Center number located on your ID card.
2. Complete both sides of the Mail Service Order Form.
3. Mail the completed Mail Service Order Form with your original prescription(s) (no photocopies) and payment or credit card number for your copayment(s) or coinsurance to CVS Caremark at the address listed on the form.
