Mail Order Pharmacy Overview

Mail order benefits are NOT available for Individual and Family Plans (IFP)

The Health Net Mail Order Pharmacy, administered by CVS Caremark, offers the convenience of home delivery for most of your maintenance prescriptions. To find out if your Health Net plan includes a mail order pharmacy benefit, see your Evidence of Coverage or Certificate of Insurance ("Plan Documents"), or contact Health Net's Customer Service.

What Is Covered?

The prescription drugs requested must be covered by your pharmacy benefit. Prescriptions submitted for drugs or supplies that are not covered will be returned to you unfilled. Some drugs on the Injectable and Specialty tiers of the formulary may not be available through the mail order pharmacy.

If you have questions regarding your drug coverage, contact Health Net's Customer Service.

When Should the Mail Order Pharmacy Be Used?

The mail order pharmacy should be used only to obtain maintenance medications, which are those needed for a long-term condition. Antibiotics for infections and painkillers for pain due to injury are examples of medications for short-term conditions that are not appropriate to obtain from the mail order pharmacy.

Use the mail order pharmacy only to obtain drugs you have previously received. All first-time prescriptions should be filled at a participating pharmacy. This will ensure the appropriate dose has been determined and your ability to tolerate the drug has been established.

How to Use the Mail Order Pharmacy:

1. View the Getting Started With Mail Order brochure and obtain the Mail Service Order Form located under Pharmacy Forms or by calling Health Net's Customer Service.

2. Complete both sides of the Mail Service Order Form.

3. Mail the completed Mail Service Order Form with your original prescription(s) (no photocopies) and payment or credit card number for your copayment(s) or coinsurance to CVS Caremark at the address listed on the form.

How Much Will It Cost?
